Transitional Spaces

Transitional spaces, or non-locations, are areas our culture gives rise to with ever-increasing frequency: areas characterized not by that which remains, but by that which passes through - places of transit that serve to organize and structure human activity. The "Street of Light" by the American light artist Keith Sonnier exaggerates motion to such an extreme degree that motion itself seems to stand still.
